Assam’s Directorate of Secondary Education has issued the official announcement for the State Level (Stage-I) of the National Talent Search (NTS) Examination for the academic year 2021-2022. Students in Class X who are interested in taking this test can apply online. The National Talent Search Scheme is the National Council of Educational Research and Training’s major initiative (NCERT). The scheme’s goal is to find and foster bright pupils based on the results of an examination. Scholarships will be given in accordance with NCERT regulations.

Eligibility criteria
Educational Qualification: Students in Class X from any recognized school, including Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Sainik School, will be able to sit for the State Level Examination from the state in where the school is located. However, there will be no restrictions on where you may live.
Age Limit/ ODL: Students enrolled in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are also eligible for scholarships if they are under the age of 18 (as of July 1st of that year), are unemployed, and are enrolling in class X for the first time.
Selection process
The selection procedure for this scholarship will be divided into two parts.
Stage-l (State Level) will be selected by states/UTs, and those who qualify for Stage-I will be able to compete. In the NCERT’s Stage-II (National Level) examination.
State-level qualifying marks for applicants from the General category are 40% in each paper and 32% in each paper for students from the SC, ST, and PH categories.
This is an OMR-based test. In both papers, each question will be assigned one mark. In neither of the exams will there be any negative marking.

Medium of NTSE Exam
The tests will be accessible in the following languages: Asamiya, Bangla, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
In the application form, the candidate must indicate his/her preference for the language in which he/she want to take the exam. As a result, the applicant will be able to access the question booklet in that language at the testing center. After using this option, no requests for a medium change will be considered.
